The University of Helsinki’s anniversary will be celebrated on 26 March, the day on which the Regency Council of Queen Christina of Sweden in 1640 signed the founding charter of the Royal Academy of Turku.
On Thursday, 26 March 2026, Helsinki University Museum Flame’s exhibition centre will be open free of charge from 12.00 to 20.00. From 14.00 to 18.00, cake will be offered to the first 100 visitors.
Mini museum tours will delve into the history of the University, its charter and the silver sceptres still used at academic events. The tours will begin at 14.00 (in Finnish), 15.00 (in Swedish), 16.00 (in English) and 17.00 (in Finnish) in the Passion for Knowledge exhibition. The tours will last 15 minutes each.
