How can I take cop­ies at the library?

All library locations have multifunction devices which you can use to copy, scan and print materials. To access the devices, you need a personal ID card and a University of Helsinki user account.

If you do not have a University of Helsinki user account, you can copy, print and scan using the Print In City service. The service allows you to add credit required for printing, copying and scanning.

Can I scan doc­u­ments at the library?

All library locations have multifunction devices which you can use to copy, scan and print. Scanning is free of charge. To access the devices, you need a personal ID card and a University of Helsinki user account.

If you do not have a University of Helsinki user account, you can copy, print and scan using the Print In City service. Scanning through this service is subject to a fee.

How can I book a Library group study fa­cil­ity? Can any­one use the group study fa­cil­it­ies?

The group study facilities are intended for students of the University of Helsinki. Reservations can be made only by students and staff of the University of Helsinki in the Office365 calendar.

Are the library loc­a­tions equally ac­cess­ible?

All Helsinki University Library sites and learning centres provide equal access.

Who can use the library fa­cil­it­ies? Are the fa­cil­it­ies open to all?

The doors of Helsinki University Library are open to all with a thirst for knowledge.

Both the printed collections and electronic materials in all library locations can be used by all customers.

Some of the reading spaces and all of the bookable groupwork facilities can be used only by students, researchers and staff of the University of Helsinki.

In addition, only University students and staff can access online materials acquired by the library via remote access with an off-campus device.

Are dogs or other pets welcome in the library?

Only guide and service dogs are welcome in Kaisa House and all Campus Libraries.
