As of Thursday, April 30, you get long-term loans on material from the Viikki Campus Library.
Due date will be no earlier than August 12, 2020, when you borrow or renew your loans
- April 30 onwards for books with a 28-day loan period,
- May 14 onwards for books with a 14-day loan period (textbooks), and
- May 26 onwards for books with a 2-day loan period.
The exceptional situation has made it harder for students to access studying material. We ask you to think of others and kindly return material that you don’t need anymore. This way you make it possible for other customers to access Library material during April and May. You can return books into the Library’s over-night return machines or lockers safely and without human contact.
Pick-up of printed material will be arranged through spring term from Kaisa House
Viikki Campus Library has been closed since March 18 due to the exceptional situation, and will remain closed until August 2020.
Helsinki University members can reserve loanable material from Viikki Campus Library for pick-up at Kaisa House. Material from Viikki can be reserved until May 29 2020. After the renovation of the Info Centre starts at the beginning of June, material from Viikki can no longer be delivered.

Other services at the Campus Library during the spring 2020
The Viikki Campus Library service phone will operate until May 29 on weekdays, 10.00–13.00. When the campus library is closed, you can contact the Main Library at Kaisa House.
You can return books into the Library’s return box until Friday May 29. The Viikki return box cannot be used during the campus library’s summer break.
The 24h reading room will be closed during the exceptional situation in the spring and during the renovation in the summer. As such, the reading room will not be in use even after the renovation of the Info Centre. If you still have a key card to the 24h reading room, you can return it to the Viikki Campus Library in August 2020, once the campus library has been opened at temporary premises.

Temporary premises to be opened in August 2020
In August 2020, the joint temporary premises of the Viikki Campus Library and the public library in Viikki will be opened on the fourth floor of Info Centre Korona. These premises will be open to the users of both libraries until the actual facilities are completed in summer 2021.
