Of Nordic universities, the University of Helsinki was second behind the University of Oslo, and among the top 20 European universities. Of Finnish universities, the University of Jyväskylä also reached the ranks 101–150.
According to Dean Johanna Mäkelä and Vice-Dean for research Auli Toom, the latest achievement demonstrates that the reputation, research quality and impact of the Faculty of Educational Sciences are internationally recognised also on the basis of this assessment.
“It’s gratifying to see our Faculty fare so well in the discipline-specific comparison. While rankings don’t tell everything about the Faculty community’s efforts, the placement does indicate that the work done has been acknowledged.”
The assessment is composed of nine indicators in five categories: World-Class Faculty, World-Class Output, High-Quality Research, Research Impact and International Collaboration. For a link to the detailed ranking methodology, see further information in the fact box.
