Educational Sciences at the University of Helsinki ranked 30th in the QS World University by Subject 2019 comparison. Improvement was eight positions (38th in 2018).

The evaluation consists of four individually scored themes: academic reputation, employer reputation, research citations by paper, and H-index. These factors are emphasized in the overall assessment by subject specific criteria.

Among European universities the University of Helsinki was ranked sixth right after the universities of London, Oxford, Cambridge, Edinburgh, and King's College London, and was the leading university in the Nordic countries.
