A Positive Turn in Subject Rankings Continues

The University of Helsinki's Educational Sciences ranks 30th in the latest QS World University Rankings by Subject, published on 25 March. This marks a rise of seven places from the previous ranking position of 37. The positive trend began with the THE World University Rankings published in January, where the Education ranked 41st.

Educational Sciences now appears on the "top 50 in the world" list in two separate rankings. Among European universities, it ranks sixth in the QS rankings, with only five UK universities placed ahead. Within the University of Helsinki, only Theology achieves a higher subject-specific ranking, at position 27.

Dean of the Faculty of Educational Sciences greets the faculty's rise to 30th place in the QS rankings positively.

"The faculty has done sustained, long-term work to support research opportunities, and that work is now paying off. We can be truly proud that Educational Sciences is one of the most highly regarded disciplines at the University of Helsinki across different rankings."

Vice Dean for Research commented on the gratifying news.

"This is concrete evidence of the high international standard and recognition of research at the Faculty of Educational Sciences — and above all, it reflects the outstanding work of our researchers, research groups and research communities."
