Organisational Psychology | Master's Programme

What is organisational psychology?

Why is organisational activity so difficult to change, even when it is clear that the change is necessary? What kind of workplaces make people thrive? What psychological factors affect productivity at work? What is leadership and management in today’s professional life? What are the core skills in the professional life of today and the future? What factors explain motivation at work, and how can it be supported? What are the means to enable and support the learning and development of individuals, teams and organisations? If these questions seem interesting and meaningful, the Master’s Programme in Organisational Psychology may be for you.

The programme explores central theories, approaches and development methods of organisational psychology, focusing particularly on groupwork and interaction skills, methodological expertise, the application and production of scholarly research knowledge as well as on close collaboration with professionals in the field. Research-based development of organisational activities is a central element of the programme.

Who is the programme for?

Students of the Bachelor’s Programme in Applied Psychology have a direct study right to the master’s programme. Holders of other applicable bachelor’s degrees can also apply to the programme. Recommended programmes include bachelor’s programmes of the Faculty of Social Sciences and those examining economic theory from different perspectives. The Master’s Programme in Organisational Psychology is also well suited for students whose bachelor’s degree includes studies in statistics, computer science, data science or similar disciplines.

The Master’s Programme in Organisational Psychology will be launched in autumn 2026. Graduates of the programme will be specialists in psychology, but not healthcare professionals. In other words, the programme prepares students for positions for which the qualification of a psychologist practising as a healthcare professional is not required.
