Degree programme leader in geography leads both bachelor’s and master’s programmes.
Degree programme leader together with geography degree board are responsible for planning and executing the degree curriculum. They are also responsible for hearing the opinions of students and teachers as part of the develompment of geography degree programmes.
Training officer helps with study related issues and answers to questions regarding study adminstration.
Professors are responsible for developing the teaching and research of their field of study. Professors teach mainly in the master’s programme and are responsible for master’s thesis supervision.
Venla Bernelius is on research leave during autumn 2021.
Sami Moisio is on research leave during spring 2022.
University lecturers and university instructors teach mainly in the bachelor’s programme. University lecturers can also supervise master’s theses.
Teemu Kemppainen is on flexible child care leave during the academic year 2021-2022. Aleksi Karhula will act as a substitute.
All researchers in the university participate in teaching in addition to their research. In this list are those reseachers and other staff members who have their own course during the current academic year. In addition to these people there are many others who teach such as researchers, doctoral students and degree students teaching on hourly basis.
Some of the retired professors, called emeritus, participate in teaching.
