ABOUT THE CONFERENCE

The NORDIK 2025 conference “Why so Nordic? The 'Nordic' as fact and fiction in art history” is organized by NORDIK – The Nordic Association for Art Historians in collaboration with the University of Helsinki, Faculty of Arts, Department of Cultures, Art History.

The Nordic Association for Art Historians NORDIK has since 1984 brought together individual scholars and organizations with an interest in Nordic and Scandinavian art history. One of the key tasks of NORDIK is to organize art historical conferences.

Conference venue

The conference will be held at the University of Helsinki Main Building (Fabianinkatu 33, Helsinki) and Ateneum Art Museum, Finnish National Gallery (Kaivokatu 2, Helsinki).
