How to get there

NERA 2025 takes place in the heart of the Helsinki city centre. The main conference venue, University of Helsinki main building, is located by the Senate Square within walking distance (600 meters) from the Central Railway Station. Tramlines 2, 4, 5 and 7 stop next to the main building as well as the metro. 

Registration, lunch and coffee breaks, paper sessions, as well as keynote lectures will be held in the University main building. The registration desk is located in the entrance lobby of the main building (at Aleksanterikatu/Alexandersgatan side).

The Language Center's normal accessible entrance is out of service due to renovations and accessible entrance is via the Kaisa House library.

The city centre can be easily accessed from Töölö Towers either by walking, tram or bus (2 km).

Helsinki-Vantaa Airport

Helsinki-Vantaa Airport (Finavia) is situated 19 kilometres from the centre of Helsinki. If you fly to Helsinki-Vantaa you can travel by train (I and P trains) or take the bus number 600 from the airport to Helsinki Central Railway Station. The Central Railway Station is located in the heart of the city centre, by walking distance from the conference hotels and the conference venue. Tickets can be purchased from ticket machines at the airport or using , which can be downloaded free of charge. When purchasing a ticket, please select the “ABC” -zone single ticket for journeys between the airport and Helsinki. A one-way ticket costs approximately 4 euros. The Central Railway Station is the final stop of bus number 600 and both trains. For more information on the train and bus connections, including the timetables, please visit 

Olympia Terminal

Is located at the South Harbour and with a regular ferry connection to Stockholm, Sweden. The terminal has an ATM, luggage lockers, a café and a kiosk. Tramlines 2 and 3 stop next to the Olympia Terminal.

West Terminal 2

Is located at the West Harbour and it concentrates on traffic to Tallinn, Estonia. The terminal has luggage lockers, a restaurant, café, kiosk, an ATM, and the Eckerö Line and Tallink Silja Line service points. Tramlines 7 and 9 stop next to the West Terminal 2.

Katajanokka Terminal

Is located at Katajanokka, with a regular ferry connection to Stockholm and Tallinn. The terminal has a restaurant, kiosk, a money exchange, an ATM, luggage lockers, and the Viking Line service point. Tramlines 4 and 5 stop next to the Katajanokka Terminal.
