The Computational Chemistry Days are the main annual event of computational chemists and materials scientists in Finland. The event has a well-established tradition, and serves the purpose of bringing the national community together. Its role to keep researchers of different chemistry (and related) departments in Finnish universities in contact with one another cannot be overstated. This event showcases current trends in computational chemistry research, enables kickstarting of collaborative efforts, and allows emerging researchers to advertise their work to the national community. The conference topics vary widely from year-to-year, but typically cover all the main thematic areas of computational chemistry in Finland.
In 2026, the Faculty of Science of the University of Helsinki gratefully takes the torch from Aalto University, who organized the event in 2024. We will continue the tradition of giving the stage to researchers at all career levels – our invited speakers cover the full range from recent Academy Research Fellows to distinguished senior professors. The event has short sessions and many breaks, to foster networking.
The language of the conference is English.
