Registration

Journalist willing to attend should contact directly the conference secretary (ella.kaplas[at]fime.fi).

The Nordic conference on Middle Eastern studies will feature almost 50 panels and rountables on modern and historic Middle East. Themes vary from international relations to linguistics and ethnographic studies. The full program will be published on the conference website in early June 2019.

Attending to the conference as a audience member, as a non-presenting participant is open for all who have registered by 5th August. Audience can attend all sessions of the conference. In addition to the sessions at Metsätalo, a side event on Iraq is organized at Tiedekulma on 14 August. This is the only session where beforehand registration is not required.

The fees for audience are the following:

• 35€ for audience members
• free for the members of NSMES. Join NSMES here.
• free for current master and bachelor students at the university of Helsinki. We ask you to fill this form after sending your registration, by 5th August latest. During the conference, please prepare to show a student ID at the registration.

The fees include coffee during conference days. Please note that you will have to pay your conference fee during the registration process using either credit card or Finnish bank transfer. For Finnish participants we recommend using bank transfer.

Registration for presenting participants was closed on 15 May. It is still possible to register to all side events as a non-presenting audience member. This is possible by choosing "full conference program".
