Hotel Alba is situated right next to the beautiful and summery lake view of Jyväsjärvi, Mattilanniemi campus and park area. Alvar Aalto museum, Jyväskylä university and the Jyväskylä city center are within walking distance from the hotel. We have pre-reserved rooms for the Summer School participants.
Jyväskylä has a wide range of other hotels to choose from, from hostels offering budget accommodation to cozy boutique hotels and a number of well-furbished quality hotels. The hotel room rates in Finland are reasonable, and the rates include taxes, a buffet breakfast, free WIFI and often also the opportunity to use the guest sauna. If you are flying to Jyväskylä Airport in Tikkakoski, note that there is no public bus transportation from the airport to the city centre, and taxi is available by pre-booking only. To arrange an airport pick up by taxi, please call in advance Jyväskylä area taxi service JYTAKSI, tel. (+358) 0100 6900. The taxi from Tikkakoski airport to the city centre costs about 50 euro.
It is a good and often more affordable choice to fly to Helsinki and take a train to Jyväskylä straight from the airport. The train ride takes about 3,5 hours. The sooner you book, the cheaper you will get the tickets. The train station is located right next to the town center. You can find more information from Finavia and VR.
