In this panel discussion world’s leading philosophers of mind, phenomenology, and cognitive science talk about today’s most pressing issues related to mind, body, and technology.
The digital world and smart technologies put us face-to-face with what it means to be a human today. They give new urgency to old questions about how we act with each other and with the natural world. They also influence how we perceive ourselves, our bodies and bodily boundaries, others, and the social world. New technologies have become part of social relationships, as AI systems can act as our colleagues, digital assistants, partners, and therapists. Who do we become as humans when new technologies enter our bodies and social relations?
Panelists: Alva Noë, Shaun Gallagher, Marya Schechtman, Evan Thompson, and Sara Heinämaa
Chair: Merja Polvinen
