A POSTDOCTORAL POSITION IN THE FIELD OF PHARMACEUTICAL NANOTECHNOLOGY
The initial period of appointment is from 2.1.2018 (or as agreed) to 31.12.2018.
We are looking for a highly motivate and outstand postdoctoral researcher for the project 3iRegeneration (http://www.3iregeneration.com) financed by TEKES. The aims of the project are to enhance the regeneration by induction of new cells locally in the brain by innovative pharmaceuticals and drug delivery systems. The research work is part of a large national consortium coordinated by Prof. Heikki Ruskoaho (Division of Pharmacology and Pharmacotherapy, Faculty of Pharmacy), involving different partners at the University of Helsinki, Aalto University and Helsinki University Central Hospital, combining expertise in areas of life sciences, chemistry, physics, engineering sciences and medicine in an innovative fashion.
The successful running of the work requires experience in targeting therapy to the brain, and strong experience in nanotechnology, controlled drug delivery, nanocarriers, and in vitro/in vivo model systems. The appointee must hold a suitable PhD degree. The ideal candidate should have a PhD in Polymer Chemistry/Nanoscience/Pharmaceutical Nanotechnology, and a strong background in nanobiosystems and nanomaterials for drug encapsulation and delivery, as well as in vitro and in vivo imaging experience of nanomaterials. In addition, the candidate should have at least 1–3 years of previous postdoctoral experience, preferentially abroad.
The salary will be based on level 5 of the demands level chart for teaching and research personnel in the salary system of Finnish universities. In addition, the appointee will be paid a salary component based on personal performance. In total, the monthly salary will be between about 3 100–3 800 € depending on the applicant’s qualifications and experience. Standard Finnish pension benefits and occupational health care are provided for university employees. The position will be filled with a 4 months trial period.
