For a fixed-term of 1.5 years, starting January 2018, with a possibility for continuation.

We are looking for an applicant with a MSc degree in biology, biochemistry, pharmacy or equivalent and keen interest in the research field of diabetes and diabetic kidney complication. The work includes experimentation with cell culture and mouse or zebrafish models using various cell biology and protein biochemistry techniques.

The successful candidate is expected to have excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary research team is also required. Previous experience in cell culture, cell biology and protein biochemistry techniques, work on mouse or zebrafish models and keen interest to learn various imaging technologies are considered a benefit.

The salary is based on the salary system of the Finnish universities for teaching and research personnel, starting from demands level 2. In addition, the appointee will be paid a salary component based on personal work performance. A trial period will be applied.
