The Learning Centre’s primary task is to support and serve the teachers, researchers and students of the Swedish School of Social Science and University of Helsinki. The Learning Centre is also open to the public.

The Learning Centre houses approximately 20 reading desks, which can be used to read the books, periodicals and other material available at the Learning Centre or to work on one’s own material or laptop computer. You must have a University of Helsinki username to use the six public computers at the Learning Centre. A University username is also required to use the multifunction printers for copying, scanning or printing. There are six computers and multifunction printers available for University students and staff. The latest Bachelor’s theses completed at the School can be accessed via the thesis kiosk at the Learning Centre.

Further information on the services of the Learning Centre for students and staff of the Swedish School of Social Science is available on Flamma.

Bachelor’s theses completed at the Swedish School of Social Science have been available via the University's E-Thesis service from August 2016, but they can only be accessed from a thesis kiosk. There is one such kiosk at the Learning Centre, and several more at the Kaisa House Library.
