Welcome to study in a Master's Programme at the University of Helsinki!

Sixty programmes for completing a Master's degree will begin in the autumn of 2017 at the University of Helsinki. By studying full time, one can usually complete a Master's degree in two years.

You will find detailed instructions on "how to apply" tab on the page. You will be presented with a list of admissions related to the programme. Click the name of an admission that interests you. You will be presented with detailed information about how to apply to the programme via that admission.

The following five programmes are offered completely in English:

The following 23 programmes are in English. In these multilingual programmes it is also possible to complete the degree in Finnish or Swedish.

In order to be admitted to a programme in Finnish or Swedish, you need to be able to communicate in Finnish or Swedish. There are 32 programmes in Finnish or Swedish. If you are interested in these programmes, acquaint yourself with the Finnish or Swedish version of this web page.

The following 4 programmes will begin in the autumn of 2018 and it is not yet possible to apply to these programmes.

  • Master's Programme in Human Nutrition and Food Behaviour (multilingual)
  • Master's Programme in Intercultural Encounters (in English)
  • Master's Programme in Russian Studies (in English)

Programmes for completing a Master's degree are meant for persons who have already completed an applicable Bachelor's degree. You cannot be admitted to a Master's degree programme if you have not completed an applicable Bachelor's degree.
