Multi-disciplinary workshop on prehistoric Northern Eurasia

The YMPACT project was involved in organizing a multi-disciplinary workshop combining archaeology, genetics, and linguistics, to shed light on prehistoric Northern Eurasia. The workshop was held in Suomenlinna, Finland, in May 2019.

The workshop CONTACTS - Archaeology, genetics, languages. Joining forces to shed light on early contacts (4000 BC – 1000 AD) between Indo-European and Uralic speakers was organized by Riho Grünthal, Volker Heyd, Mika Lavento, Johanna Nichols and Janne Saarikivi. It was an interdisciplinary conference on prehistoric northern Eurasia and it consisted of two days of intensive discussion between specialists of archaeology, genetics and languages from various countries.
