At the end of November 2024 Dr. Olli-Pekka Malinen from Helsinki SEN visited the Faculty of Education at the Southwest University in Chongqing, China. In his talk to the host university’s staff and students Olli-Pekka gave an overview of the 15 years of research he has conducted, together with his colleagues, to understand teachers’ attitudes, efficacy and behaviour related to inclusive education in Finland, East Asia, and South Africa. In the talk, Malinen also shared recent findings based on data from primary and lower secondary schools in Finland. These findings Olli-Pekka presented, empirically demonstrate the effect of teacher self-efficacy on classroom behavioral climate.
