Granted mobility funding 2023

In 2023, ReNEW steering group has approved the payment of following mobility support:

Hasan Akintug (PhD student, University of Helsinki) for a one month research visit at the University of Greenland in November 2023. His research project: Nordic Paradiplomacy: A Historical Analysis of the External Policies of the Åland Islands, the Faroe Islands and Greenland.

Inga Bostad (Professor, University of Oslo) for inviting professor Daniel Tröhler (University of Vienna) to University of Oslo in September 2023. Their research project: The Nordic Education Model.

John Brauer (Lecturer, Örebro University) for a two week research visit to Copenhagen Business School in 2023-2024. His research project: The European Social Fund's impact on active labour market policies.

Lea Brinkgaard (PhD fellow, University of Copenhagen) for a six week research visit to University of Oslo in spring 2023. Her research project: Youth Without Crime: Punishment and Welfare in Denmark, 1970-2020

Martin Brandt Djupdræt (PhD Fellow, Copenhagen Business School) for a two month research visit to Aarhus University and Malmö University in 2023. His research project: Museums and Identity - An investigation about the value of museums.

Arno van Hootegem (Postdoctoral fellow, University of Oslo) for a six week research visit in WZB Berlin Social Science Center in spring 2023. his research project: Genetics of mental health and educational achievement among adolescents: The moderating role of parental socioeconomic status.

Mads Jensen (Associate Professor, Copenhagen Business School) for a four month research visit to the Harvard University’s Minda de Gunzburg Center for European Studies (CES) in 2023-2024. His research project: Political and Bureaucratic Representation of Citizens with disabilities in one or more Nordic countries.

Reidar Schei Jessen (Postdoctoral fellow, University of Oslo) for a three month research visit in London School of Economic and Political Science in autumn 2023. His research project: Development of self-identity among young people on digital media.

Angie Jo (PhD Candidate, MIT Department of Political Science) for a two week research visit to the Copenhagen Business School in 2023. Her research project: Varieties of Crisis Response: Welfare Regimes and Emergency Fiscal Spending on COVID-19.

Aija Lulle (Senior Researcher, University of Eastern Finland) for a one week research visit to the University of Oslo in September 2023. Her research project: Countryside futures: how (i)mobility can lead to innovation and sustainable living.

Cathie Jo Martin (Professor, Boston University) for a one month research visit to the Copenhagen Business School in 2024. Her research project: Negotiating Responses to Climate Change: Echoes of Nature in Literature in EU Policymaking.

Miroslav Nemčok (Postdoctoral fellow, University of Oslo) for a two month research visit to the European University Institute in autumn 2023. His research project: Welfare State and Unfortunate Life Experiences: The Effect of Social Policies on People’s Support for Political System.

Niamh Ní Bhroin (Researcher, University of Oslo) for inviting Professor Mona Lundin and Associate Professor Annika Bergviken Rensfeldt (University of Gothenburg, Sweden) to visit the University of Oslo for one week in 2023. Their research project: Blind spots in the future of education.

Justine Grønbæk Pors (Associate professor, Copenhagen Business School) for a five week research visit to the University of Melbourne in 2024. Her research project: Young women’s future-making in the context of the Nordic welfare model.

Carolin Schütze (Postdoctoral researcher, Copenhagen Business School) for a one month research visit to the University of Tokyo in autumn 2023. Her research project: Prevalence and implications of racial attitudes– a comparison between Japan and Sweden.

Young-Kyu Shin (Associate Research Fellow, Korea Institute for Health and Social Affairs) for a one month research stay at the Copenhagen Business School in 2024. His research project: Varieties of Welfare Universalism.

Anne Marit Waade (Professor, Aarhus University) for six month research visit at the University of Oslo in 2024. Her research project: Developing media studies research and teaching collaboration between UiO and AU.
