Atmospheric Computational Chemistry -- Dr. Theo Kurtén

Welcome to the Atmospheric Computational Chemistry group! We use computational chemistry to study chemical reactions of interest in atmospheric modelling, such as the formation of volatile organic compounds (VOC's) which can influence cloud condensation and nucleation.

We collaborate with many groups, including the Institute for Atmospheric and Earth System Research (INAR) and the CLOUD experiment at CERN.

We make heavy use of the computational resources provided by the CSC (http://www.csc.fi). In addition we maintain our own licenses for COSMOtherm and COSMOconf as well as the Spartan software.

We are also participating in the maintenance of a matrix isolation laboratory run by Dr. Luis Duarte.

For more detailed information on our research and links to publications please see our website.
