Metapopulation Research Centre is one of the Centres of Excellence (CoE) nominated and funded by the national research Academy in Finland. The centre consists of independent subgroups led by a Principal Investigator (PI) and further the subgroups of post docs, PhD students and technical personnel. In addition to the CoE funding and some shared services, the subgroups have also additional project funding from various sources with what they are conducting research in their own fields of expertise, although in many cases this includes close collaboration between the subgroups in the MRC. In this page you can find an introduction to different subgroups and the research done in them. The research done in collaboration with another subgroup is listed under the leading PI of the particular research project.
