This research focuses on developing computational tools to model wave propagation in coupled acoustic-viscoelastic-poroviscoelastic media. Numerical simulation of wave problems is computationally demanding. Efficient parallelization, capability to handle complex geometries, and sufficient numerical accuracy are some of the requirements for a suitable wave simulation technique. The discontinuous Galerkin method provides an efficient approach to achieving these requirements. In this talk, the applicability of the developed computational tools is demonstrated by numerical examples.
