Drawing on over a decade of research, their analysis explores how certain actors may be co-opting sustainability efforts to maintain the status quo. As deforestation persists, the research community must continue questioning who truly benefits from proposed reforms—and whether they bring real transformation or simply reinforce existing power structures.
