Session Overview
Inspired by Ernest Callenbach’s vision of ecotopia—an ecologically harmonious society built on cooperation, justice, and long-term sustainability—this session examines how such futures can be re-imagined in the face of mounting global crises. As climate disruption, biodiversity loss, inequality, and political instability intensify, socio-ecological systems (SES) across the Global North and South face unprecedented pressure. This working group invites critical, forward-looking contributions that explore just, resilient, and transformative SES futures through a deep sustainability and systems thinking lens.
