Hereditary Breast and Ovarian Cancer

Modeling disease risk and patient survival

In the Nevanlinna group, we investigate genetics and genomics of breast and ovarian cancer. Our main research topics include predisposing genetic variation, tumor genomic characteristics, and genetic markers of patient prognosis and treatment outcome. We focus on inherited genetic variants and mutations but aim systematically to build a bigger picture of genes and pathways associated with risk of breast and ovarian cancer and survival of cancer patients, using the state-of-the-art bioinformatics methods with high performance computing.
