Welcome new research assistant Gloria Murari

After completing her Msc, Gloria has started a new study project with AI in Rose Thorogood’s group.

Gloria is a recently graduated master student in Animal Behavior at the University of Turin. She is now working in Rose Thorogood’s group Informed Birds as research assistant and will be in Helsinki until the end of May. During this period, she will be programming an AI – Loopy – to recognize and follow the movements of caged reed warblers (Acrocephalus scirpaceus). The goal is to understand if it would be possible and practical replacing manual work with the AI in collecting movement data during experiments that test explorative behaviors of the species.
