Welcome new doctoral researcher Patrick Heidbreder!

After completing his MSc Degree, Patrick will continue studying speciation genomics in Jonna Kulmuni´s group

ESB is happy to welcome Patrick Heidbreder as a doctoral researcher in 's . Patrick finished his MSc in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology here at the University of Helsinki where he studied mobile DNA elements in natural hybrid populations.

Patrick´s PhD work will consist of genomics, field experiments, and modeling to understand speciation, adaptation, and thermal tolerance in red wood ants (Formica rufa group). He will conduct his research as part of the . We are excited to have Patrick as a part of ESB and look forward to his future with the group.
