Virpi Salojärvi is senior researcher from University of Helsinki and assistant professor from University of Vaasa specialising on media and communication studies. She has been researching Venezuelan media and politics for the past 20 years. Her most recent work on Venezuela explores the challenges of Venezuelan journalists and media.

Kleber Carrilho is a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Helsinki, specialising in politics and communication. His current research at the Endure project focuses on populism and polarisation in social media, mainly in the Brazilian context of dispute between far-right and progressive groups during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Emilia Palonen is senior researcher, HEPP research group leader and Programme Director of Datafication at the University of Helsinki.  She has published and worked on the themes of populism, polarisation and communication.Palonen has been collaborating with Latin American scholars from her student days at the MA and PhD in the Ideology and Discourse Analysis Programme, at the University of Essex.
