HEPP Seminar with Kevin Deegan-Krause on European Political Party Landscapes

Kevin Deegan-Krause, Professor of Political Science at Wayne State University will present at the HEPP seminar on 2 June 2025. See below for more information.

We are very grateful to Dr. Deegan-Krause for agreeing both to serve as an opponent at Ilana Hartikainen's defense on populism in the Czech Republic and Slovakia and to present at our HEPP seminar at 14.00-16.00, Monday 2 June 2025. Dr. Deegan Krause will be presenting on his current book project, co-authored with Dr. Tim Haughton of the University of Birmingham. The presentation is titled "New Maps for New Territories: Newness and Novelty in Increasingly Chaotic European Political Party Landscapes".

Kevin Deegan-Krause is Professor of Political Science at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. His research focuses on political parties and democracy in Europe with emphasis on Europe’s newer democracies and its newer parties. His newest book, co-authored with Dr. Timothy Haughton of the University of Birmingham, is The New Party Challenge: Changing Cycles of Party Birth Death in Central Europe and Beyond (Oxford University Press, 2020).
