MMR efficiency assessment from skin

Decades of DNA mismatch repair research and expertise at Professor Minna Nyström´s lab gave rise to the DiagMMR, a functional test that can reveal inherited MMR malfunction from a small skin sample.

Inherited MMR deficiency underlies Lynch syndrome and results in a significantly increased cancer risk (up to 80%). DiagMMR can determine lowered MMR efficiency from non-cancerous tissue, without sequence or tumor derived information, both central to the current panel of tests required for LS diagnosis.
