NordId - Young people's identifications with the Nordic

NordId investigates young peoples’ identifications with the Nordic region.

Through participatory photography and semi-structured interviews, we engage upper secondary students in all five Nordic countries. The students photograph themes that they associate with what the Nordic means to them and that in some way capture their experiences of being Nordic. They additionally take part in group interviews where they explain their thoughts behind their photographs and share their experiences of growing up in a Nordic country.

Furthermore, they reflect on their future in the Nordic region. Through this project we increase our understanding on young peoples’ perceptions of the Nordic countries and what being part of the Nordic region means to them. We are also exploring young peoples’ awareness of the privileges of living in a Nordic country.NordId investigates young peoples’ identifications with the Nordic region.
