Welcome! We are an interdisciplinary research group working at an intersection of computer science and geosciences led by Associate Professor Indrė Žliobaitė at the University of Helsinki. We study evolutionary processes in nature and society and their causal mechanisms. Our research focuses on methods, tools and perspectives for macroevolution and palaeoecology. In machine learning we study how to handle concept drift, and how to reason with evolving data, and how to make robust, transparent and interpretable models.
