In our research lab we study normal and abnormal growth and development of facial morphogenesis and patterning, calvarial bones and sutures. Craniofacial abnormalities largely includes: premature fusion of calvarial sutures, defects in teeth development, cleft lip and palate. Cleft lip and palate are the most common congenital birth defects in human that affects 1 in 700 individuals.
