The work in the group is guided by methods from various different backgrounds ranging from modern data science and machine learning to history and linguistics. COMHIS is looking to hire a research assistant(s) studying computer/data science or language technology at the University of Helsinki for the summer of 2022 (2-3 month post based upon agreement). The tasks for the RA from CS can range from machine learning to downstream NLP tasks (genre detection, classifiers to embeddings) depending on the selected applicant’s expertise.
COMHIS is also looking to hire a research assistant(s) studying a relevant field in the humanities (e.g. history) at the University of Helsinki for the summer of 2022 (2-3 month post based upon agreement). The tasks for the RAs can range from annotation tasks to corpus analyses depending on the selected applicant’s expertise.
Applicants with knowledge in both data science and humanities are naturally welcome.
