European Human Genetics Conference in Berlin, on June 1-4, 2024

Doctoral student form the CLIPI group, Anni Malmberg, participated in the annual conference organized by the European Society of Human Genetics (ESHG) in Berlin, on June 1-4, 2024. She presented a poster on the polygenic and metabolic risk scores she had developed for episodic memory, i.e. the ability to encode and recall events - a vital cognitive function for healthy cognitive aging. The trip was funded by the University of Helsinki Doctoral School.

The concurrent symposia, educational sessions, and other presentations provided at the event covered a wide range of different topics, including for example progression and treatment of genetic diseases, and methods and tools for research on genomics and integrative omics, and for interpreting study results on these fields. The event enabled dissemination of the most recent advancements in the field of human genetics, and gathered together scientists from all over the world and from different study fields such as e.g. medical genetics, biomedical engineering, bioinformatics and epidemiology.
