European Congress of Psychology In Paphos, July 1-4, 2025

The 19th European Congress of Psychology (ECP) supported by the European Federation of Psychologists' Associations (EFPA) was held in Paphos, Cyprus on July 1-4, 2025. The theme of the event was “Transforming Psychological Science: the 2030 agenda”.

PhD Vera Gergov, a Postdoctoral Researcher from the IMAGINE consortium presented the preliminary results of the recently submitted review titled  “Effectiveness of Psychosocial Interventions for Reducing Loneliness in Adolescents and Young Adults: A Systematic Review and Meta-analysis”. The week included also very inspiring meetings with other researchers focusing e.g. on youth mental health or preventing loneliness.

The congress gathered more than 1,100 attendees - including academics, early-career researchers, practitioners, and students - from 73 countries. The programme was structured under seven main thematic tracks addressing psychological science, historical and conceptual issues in psychology; human development and education; psychology and the social world; psychology and the governance of society; psychology and human functioning; psychology in the service of health and well-being; and supporting developing psychologists. Beyond the extensive academic programme, the social events were well organized, and provided a good opportunity for building new networks.
