The Department of Mathematics and Statistics at the Faculty of Science of the University of Helsinki invites applications for a PROFESSOR OR ASSISTANT/ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR IN APPLIED MATHEMATICS conducting research on inverse problems.
The position is closely related to the Centre of Excellence in Inverse Modelling and Imaging. It is a research unit operating in several Finnish Universities and funded by the Academy of Finland. The center consists of pure and applied mathematicians and mathematically oriented scientists engaged in active collaboration. The methodological and theoretical focus areas include nonlinear partial differential equations, geometry, computational reconstruction methods and tomographic and wave imaging methods.
