The 2022 ReNEW Early Career Paper Prize in humanities to Fredrik Forrai Ørskov

For the second time, ReNEW () awarded the ‘Early Career Paper Prize’. The Prize recognizes outstanding early career papers in research about the Nordic region. Eligible candidates are PhD students or those who have completed a PhD within the last three years and have presented their paper at a ReNEW event. For the 2022 prize the paper had to be presented after the Third Nordic Challenges conference, i.e. 9 March 2019 or later, including virtual events and papers accepted for the 2022 conference.

The ReNEW Early Career Paper Prize is granted to two papers, one in social sciences and one in humanities.

The 2022 ReNEW Early Career Paper Prize in humanities was awarded to Doctoral student Frederik Forrai Ørskov from CENS for the paper “The Scandinavist Origins of ‘Nordic Peace’: Fredrik Bajer and the Peaceful Afterlife of a 19th Century Pan-Ideology” was first presented at the “Revisiting Nordic Peace” workshop on 18-19 March 2019 in Oslo.
