Women and Politeness in Eighteenth-Century England

Book launch: Soile Ylivuori, 3 May

You are warmly welcome to attend a small wine event organised to launch Soile Ylivuori’s new book on
Friday 3 May at 16.00, the coffee room of the Department of History, Topelia A 223.

Ylivuori's book, Women and Politeness in Eighteenth-Century England (Routledge), examines the complex relationship individuals had with the discursive ideals of polite femininity and women’s different means to resist politeness as a disciplinary regime. The book is published as the opening title of Routledge’s new series Studies in Eighteenth-Century Cultures and Societies.
