Professor Sheilagh Ogilvie (University of Cambridge) will speak about “Public-Order versus Private-Order Institutions in Commercial Contract Enforcement” on Tuesday, 26 September, from 18.30 to 19.30 at the Suomen Laki lecture hall (Porthania building, Yliopistonkatu 3, ground floor).
Sheilagh Ogilvie is Professor of Economic History at the University of Cambridge. Her research includes the book Institutions and European Trade: Merchant Guilds, 1000-1800 (Cambridge University Press, 2011), regarded as a landmark study of the field.
The lecture is organized by the research project The Making of Commercial Law: Common Practices and National Legal Rules from the Early Modern to the Modern Period, directed by Professor Heikki Pihlajamäki.
