A Global History of Free Ports: Capitalism, Commerce and Geopolitics (1600-1900)

International research network hosted by the Helsinki Centre

The Helsinki Centre for Intellectual History is proud to present a new affiliated project: The international research network on the study of the history of free ports.

The project will involve - from now on- the organisation of four international conferences in Venice, Helsinki, Harvard and Seoul. Afterwards a selection of fully revised papers will be published in a collected volume.
