Bioactivity Screening Group showcases anti-virulence research at ULLA Summer School 2026
Doctoral researcher Maritta Keurulainen presented her research at the ULLA Summer School 2026 in Geneva, Switzerland, while joining students and researchers from across Europe for a week of scientific exchange and networking.
From 27 June to 4 July 2026, Maritta participated in the European University Consortium for Pharmaceutical Sciences in Geneva, Switzerland. During the event, she presented her poster, "Broccoli water extract as a potential antivirulence inhibitor in uropathogenic Escherichia coli", showcasing the Bioactivity Screening Group's research on antivirulence strategies to fight microbial infections and antimicrobial resistance.
I spent a week full of science and networking in Geneva. I learned a lot, made new friends from universities around Europe, and was especially happy that the University of Helsinki won the traditional Geneva City Race. Receiving the winner's cup at the closing ceremony made the week even more memorable. Big thanks to the organising team!
