Saana Svärd and Joanna Töyräänvuori's edited book "Muinaisen Lähi-idän imperiumit. Kadonneiden suurvaltojen kukoistus ja tuho" (Gaudeamus) takes readers back to a time before the beginning of the Common Era and revives the societies and cultures of Mesopotamia, the Levant, and the Arabian Peninsula. The book presents interesting themes in Finnish, covering a wide range from governance and economy to culture and art. The book received an honorable mention in the Year's History Book competition in 2022.
