OLIVE project organizes a pedagogical café and discussion online on zoom, 12 December 2023, 10am-11am/Helsinki time.
While the war on Gaza continues, we keep in touch, keep meeting and collaborating with colleagues and our students, teaching and learning from one another.
Collaborative teaching and learning and developing practices by adopting interdisciplinary approaches have been at the core of the project. With these principles in mind, the next pedagogical café is hosting a discussion on Palestinian young people's video storytelling about their cultural heritage.
Our guests will be Dr Marwan Darweish and Dr Laura Sulin from Coventry University, UK.
Marwan Darweish is Associate Professor in Peace Studies at the Centre for Trust, Peace and Social Relations, Coventry University, UK. His research interests are related to understanding nonviolence, resistance in asymmetric conflict, cultural resistance and conflict transformation.
Laura Sulin is a Research Fellow at the Centre for Trust, Peace & Social Relations, Coventry University, UK. Her research interest are related to gender in international security, specifically in relation to the UN Women, Peace & Security Agenda, intersectionality, and cultural heritage.
Marwan and Laura will present their research with Palestistian youth using participatory video to tell stories about cultural heritage. A discussion with Q&As will follow.
Participation in the event requires registration latest by Monday 11 December, 4pm (link below).
