The International Social Service

Forgotten Female figures in Private International Law

The International Social Service (ISS) is an international NGO comprising of a network of national entities throughout the world and a General Secretariat in Geneva. Since 1924 the ISS has helped millions of families navigate complex socio-legal problems as a result of migration. Women were the lifeblood of this organization from the very beginning: setting the vision, raising funds across all branches, lobbying a male-dominated international scene in Geneva, London and New York and leading transnational research teams at the intersection of private international law and international social work.
