Welcoming our two international trainees!

Elly Okinyo and Li Tian are joining CHARM for the autumn period to assist the project and to develop their own skills.
This week we are delighted to welcome two interns to our project team – welcome to Elly and Li!

We are excited to strengthen our team with two interns through the The Trainee Program for International Master Students of the University of Helsinki, Elly and Li, who will join us for the autumn period. Their work will contribute to advancing our research on written medieval culture and help us explore new perspectives within the project.

Elly Okinyo is a second-year Research Master of Science in Economics student at the University of Helsinki, with a Bachelor of Business Science degree in Financial Economics from Strathmore University (Nairobi, Kenya). Elly will bring skills in data analytics, project management, and administration to the CHARM project. Li Tian is a Master’s student in Theoretical and Computational Methods at the University of Helsinki, specializing in Machine Learning and AI. Li supports the CHARM project by helping to analyze medieval pigments and applying data analysis and machine learning to historical materials.

Both trainees will be involved in hands-on research tasks, from exploring historical sources to supporting our analytical work. Their fresh insights and enthusiasm will be a valuable addition as we continue uncovering how international written culture was adopted in medieval Finland.

We look forward to an inspiring autumn together!
