The faculty's solemn Doctoral Conferment will take place on Friday 16 June 2023.
In the conferment ceremony, young Doctors of Laws, jubilee doctors and six new honorary doctors will receive their new titles in the traditional way. The previous Conferments have been organised in 2017, 2010 and 2000.
You're invited to attend the Conferment Act on Friday 16 June at 10 AM in the Great Hall of the University's Main Building. There is no separate registration for the event. The dress code is white tie (frack) for those who take part in the procession, or dark suit.
You're also welcome to participate in the festive Conferment Dinner at hotel Hilton Kalastajatorppa that same night at 7 PM. The night will feature speeches, musical entertainment, and an elegant five-course meal to finish the long and memorable day. By participating in the dinner you can be a part of the festive traditions and support the event. Companions are welcome. The dress code is white tie (or a coloured evening gown). Participation in the dinner will be 140 euros per person. Registration for the dinner is a two-part process through the link to the university's online payment system. In the payment confirmation, you will receive a link to the 2nd form, through which it is possible to submit dietary preferences etc.
Participants of the Conferment Dinner may also choose to continue to the Conferment Sailing the following day, Saturday 17 June from 12 noon to 3 PM. The excursion is a cruise around the Helsinki archipelago and includes a tasty lunch served on board. The participation fee will be paid at the same time as the dinner.
