USP leena järvi

Leena Järvi is Associate professor in Applied Urban Meteorology at the University of Helsinki. Her research interests focus on urban meteorology and climate and their interaction with air quality using state-of-the-art observations and modelling at different urban scales and how urban atmospheric modelling and measurements can be used to support urban planning and decision making. Her expertise is in urban eddy covariance measurements of variety of compounds and how to reduce their uncertainties, and on urban land surface and turbulence modelling in understanding the interaction between urban surface and the atmosphere. Järvi is the PI of the ICOS (Integrated Carbon and Observation System infrastructure) associated ecosystem station location in Helsinki and leads the urban meteorology research group. She is the board member of the International Association for Urban Climate.
